About Case for Cooking

Why we set up Case for Cooking

This is the bit where we’re supposed to tell you our childhood stories, our tales of travelling the world or how there were no decent spice kits before Case for Cooking (NB: definitely not the case: we’ve tried and enjoyed most them!).

Our story is much simpler than that. We’re just a husband and wife team who love food and genuinely believe that home cooking doesn’t need to be complicated. We also believe that spices don’t only mean extremely hot curries so we set up Case for Cooking to put our own spin on dinner. So far we’ve created spice kits that aren’t curries, curry blends that have a twist and some seriously good cooking pastes (even if we say so ourselves!), with lots more products in the pipeline.

Quality spice, local ingredients and simple recipes

We use only quality spices and herbs in all our products and as many locally sourced or home grown ingredients as we can in our cooking pastes. All our products make multiple servings and the majority are also gluten-free and suitable for both vegetarian and vegan diets.

Case for Cooking is also all about simplicity. Our products come with simple printed instructions, our recipes use only basic kitchen equipment, and we don’t include any fancy ingredients. We also try to keep potential food waste to a minimum by only using whole ingredients or standard sizes in our recipes.

Sustainable packaging

We know packaging sells and we love a beautiful box as much as the next person. However, we are also very aware of the negative consequences of unnecessary fancy packaging so as with everything else, we are trying to keep things simple. Finding eco-friendly and affordable food-grade packaging with a long shelf-life is one of our biggest challenges! As much as possible, we use packaging that is already widely recycled, made of recycled material or 100% degradable, like the Case for Cooking curry refill packs. We’re always on the lookout for other new alternatives though so please bear with us while we keep trying to improve.

Keep up to date with Case for Cooking

We’ve got lots of new products in development (both in the Case for Cooking kitchen and testing at the lab) so follow us @caseforcooking on Facebook or Instagram if you’d like to find out more. You’ll also be able to see when we’re at a food festival or farmers’ market near you – and let us know what you’ve cooked with our kits, pots and pastes!
